Maharashtra Cong appoints eight district unit chiefs

As part of organisational changes ahead of Lok Sabha and assembly elections this year, Maharashtra Congress today appointed eight district unit chiefs and two Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) secretaries.

MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre appointed Jaiprakash Gupta from Nagpur and Salim Patel from Jalgaon as MPCC secretaries, a party statement said.

While Vikas Thakre was made the president of the Nagpur city district unit, Prakash Devtale was appointed as the head of the Chandrapur Rural District Congress Committee.

Arjun Bhangale has been nominated as president of the Jalgaon city district Congress unit, while Sandip Patil has been appointed as president of the Jalgaon rural district unit.
 

Ashwini Boraste will head the Nashik city district Congress, while Hidayat Patel will be in charge of the Akola rural unit.

Mohan Kadam is the new Sangli rural district unit chief, while Sarjerao Kale is the Beed rural district Congress president.

The MPPC statement said new office bearers and Pradesh Congress Committee chiefs would be appointed in three to four days.
