Main accused in journalist killing case arrested

The main accused in the killing of a of a Hindi daily last month was arrested from district, police said Thursday.

The accused was identified as Prasant Ji, the of an ultra outfit (TPC), police said.

The arrest was made in a joint raid conducted by the and district police on Wednesday, of Police, Akhilesh B Beriar said.

Prasant Ji, who was involved in several ultra-related incidents in district, was active in and Hazaribag areas. He is a resident of Panki in district.

The TPC was arrested when he came to meet his family members in Panki, he said.

Chandan Tiwari, a 32-year-old of Hindi daily 'Aaj', was abducted by unidentified persons and beaten to death in Baltherwa village under station of Chatra district in the last week of October.

Tiwari's family members had suspected the hand of the ultra group behind his killing.
