A young man was assaulted and shot at by three others, including a juvenile, at a park in Chirag Dilli, police said today.

The incident happened last night but the motive is not clear yet. It is suspected that the accused were angry with the victim since he wasn't answering their call, they added.

A payment dispute is also being probed. The main accused has been arrested and a juvenile apprehended while efforts are on to trace the third accused.

The incident happened around 8.30 PM at a park near the intersection of the BRT corridor and Outer Ring Road, said a senior police officer.

The victim Aakash Bharadwaj was sitting in a park when the three arrived there.

He told police that one of the three accused, Prince, started abusing him and repeatedly asking him why was he not answering the calls the accused made to him.

"The accused trio attacked Aakash and after thrashing him, Prince took out a pistol and fired three rounds at him. The bullets hit his abdomen and the accused fled the scene," said the officer.

A passerby made a call after which the victim was admitted to a hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Prince was later arrested from Mehrauli. The juvenile accused was also apprehended.
