Police today detained a man for questioning in connection with the murder of an educational trust ex-office bearer in Lakhisarai district, a police officer said.

The suspect, identified as Roshan Singh, was arrested from Lakhisarai district court premises for questioning in connection with the sensational murder case of the Balika Vidyapeeth trust ex-secretary Sharad Chandra Kumar four days ago, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar told PTI.

"We have got specific input about involvement of the detenue in the said murder case following which he has been taken into custody from the district court premises for questioning," the SP said.

Kumar said that Singh, a native of Babhangama village had come to the court for trial of a case against him in which he was out on bail.

Raids were being carried out to nab six out of seven accused persons at large in the said murder case, including the realtor Anil Sharma, the SP said.

Chandra was shot dead by two unidentified persons at his house on August two last.

The victim's wife Usha Sharma had lodged an FIR at Town police station, naming Sharma, the Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Amrapali Group, and six others charging them with hatching conspiracy to eliminate her husband over property dispute.

Chandra, who had served as the secretary of an educational institution, called Balika Vidyapeeth Trust, for 20 years before being succeeded in that post by Sharma five years ago.

An accused Dr. Praveen Kumar Sinha was arrested by the police hours after the murder.

Sharma has denied the charge against him and said that he has been "implicated in the said murder case in a bid to malign his reputation.
