A murder case accused was found dead inside the lockup of Vapi GIDC police station in Valsad district, police said here today.
"Subhash Patel (34), a resident of Vapi, was summoned for questioning last evening by Vapi GIDC police station in connection with the murder of one businessman Mukesh Patel. However, after he was put in the lockup, he hanged himself by tying a cloth from window," a police officer said.
"His body has been sent to Surat Civil Hospital for post-mortem", the officer added.

Valsad, located in South Gujarat, is 345 km from here.
Valsad Superintendent of Police (SP) Nipuna Torwane told PTI that an investigation has begun into the incident.
