A local court today remanded a man, arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old inmate of the children's remand home here, in police custody till December 17.
The accused, Narayan alias Narya Kothekar, an electrician by profession, was arrested on Thursday evening for allegedly sexually assaulting the class VI student at the hostel.
A complaint in this regard was filed by the Superintendent of the hostel.
Police recorded the statements of the victim and her friend Rupesh Bhalerao before a magistrate today.
Kothekar was booked under IPC and under Prevention of Atrocities Act.
