Punjab Congress leader Fatehjang Singh Bajwa and 17 other partymen were today acquitted by a local court in a criminal case filed against them in 2007.
Bajwa is the younger brother of Punjab PCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa.
Fatehjang Singh, party secretary Ravinder Sharma, former Chairman Punjab Agro Corporation and their supporters were facing trial in a local court in connection with a criminal case registered against them in Ghoman Police Station in Gurdaspur district in 2007.

It was alleged that Bajwa and Ravinder Sharma along with their 15 Congress supporters had created a hurdle in the duty of a police party as they got freed their worker Avtar Singh, a resident of village Bohja under Ghoman Police Station, whom a police party from Mehta Police Station in Amritsar district had come to arrest in a criminal case.
A case under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act was registered against them in Ghoman Police Station in Gurdaspur district in 2007.
All the alleged accused were on bail in the case.
Judicial Magistrate Amit Singh today acquitted them.
