Man given life term for raping minor girl

A local court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on him for raping a minor girl seven years ago.

Additional District Judge, S N Tripathi yesterday sentenced Irshad to life imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl in Sahsawan area.

Father of the victim had lodged an FIR on Jan 27, 2006 when the girl became pregnant.

The Judge said that out of the total fine of Rs 1 lakh imposed on the accused, Rs 70 thousand is to be given to the victim.
