Three kgs of opium was recovered from a man arrested here, police said today.
Fatehgarh Sahib Senior SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar informed that during checking of vehicles near minor canal of village Bulara on August 19, a police team arrested a motorcyclist Amrik Singh, a resident of village Kalemajra (Bassi Pathana) and recovered 3 kgs opium from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered against the accused.
The SSP said during interrogation the accused told the police that he used to supply opium in Bassi Pathana, Chunni Kalan, Khamano, Fatehgarh Sahib and surrounding areas.
