A 30-year-old alleged drug peddler was arrested with 7 kg of marijuana from Central Delhi, police said today.
Naushad was arrested by a police team on Saturday evening during patrolling from near Turkman Gate.
"The team saw a man coming from Turkman Gate side with a brown bag. On suspicion, he was asked to stop for checking, but instead of stopping, he tried to flee. However, he was nabbed," said a senior police official.
"On searching his bag, 7 kg marijuana (ganja) was recovered from him," the official said.
On interrogation, he told police that he used to travel to Bhubaneswar in Orrisa to fetch drugs and sell them in Delhi at exorbitant rates, he added.
