A man was killed while his wife sustained serious injuries when their bike today collided with a vehicle at Amritsar-Pathankot Road near Gillawali village, police said.
The accident took place when Sukhdev Singh and his wife Gurinderjit Kaur were returning home after offering prayers at a gurdwara here.
Their bike collided head-on with a light commercial vehicle coming from the opposite direction, police said, adding that Sukhdev died on the spot.
A case of negligent driving has been registered against the driver of the light commercial vehicle who fled the spot, police said.
