Man robbed of Rs 1.40 lakh in Amethi

Four car-borne miscreants today robbed a person of Rs 1.40 lakh near Purabgaon area of the district, police said.

The incident took place on Raebareli-Jagdishpur road under Jagdishpur police station area when the miscreants looted the cash from the driver of a bidi businessman, Circle Officer of Musafirkhana Sumit Shukla said.

The driver was returning to Jagdishpur after collecting money from shopkeepers, he said, adding, police is looking into the matter.

No arrest has been made so far.
