A 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death today in the Seemapuri area of northeast Delhi for not serving him breakfast on time.
According to police, the incident took place at around 8 A.M. When Gautam and his 21-year-old wife Manju, whom he had married in 2012, were at their residence.
"Gautam asked Manju to serve him breakfast. As she was busy with some household work, she got late in serving breakfast, which angered Gautam. He then went to the kitchen and picked up a knife and stabbed her to death," said a senior police officer.
Police said that after killing his wife, the accused tried to make the murder appear as if it was a suicide.
"Gautam dragged the body to the terrace to make the death appear like a suicide by throwing the body from the first floor of the building, but some neighbours spotted him and prevented him from doing so," police said.
The neighbours immediately called police who arrived on the scene and took her to the nearby GTB Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Gautam has been arrested in the case and inquiries are on in the matter, police added.
