Shares of Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today gained as much as 2.5 per cent after the company reported 21.7 per cent increase in its total sales for July.
Stock of the country's largest car-maker ended 2.48 per cent higher at Rs 2,587 on the BSE. During the day, it gained 3.98 per cent to Rs 2,625.
At the NSE, the stock rose by 2.18 per cent to end the day at Rs 2,579.

In terms of volume, 1.22 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE, while over 9 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today reported 21.7 per cent increase in its total sales for July at 1,01,380 units as against 83,299 units in the same month last year.
The company said its domestic sales rose 19.9 per cent during the month to 90,093 units as against 75,145 units in July 2013.
