Medium sugar prices recovered marginally at the Vashi wholesale market here today following mild demand by stockist and retailers amid good enquiries from upcountry buyers.
While, small sugar variety dropped further owing to lack of buying support.
Medium sugar (M-30) moved up by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,042/3,155 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,032/3,155.
However, small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 30 per quintal to Rs 2,906/2,982 as against Rs 2,906/3,012 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,906/2,982 (Rs 2,906/3,012).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,042/3,155 (Rs 3,032/3,155).
