A member of Mewati gang, involved in cattle rustling incidents, was arrested by police after an exchange of fire with his associates.
Police said that arrested has been identified as Hakumuddin, who along with his three associates, was fleeing in an tempo after stealing cattle from Sadar Bazar area.
"Acting on specific information, police laid a trap and confronted tempo drivers. In a bid to escape, the gang members fired at police. The police also responded to the firing," said a police official.
The official said that they managed to nab one of the accused, while his three associates managed to flee from the spot, leaving behind their vehicle.
