Mercury soars in Uttar Pradesh, Banda hottest at 46.2 degrees Celsius
Met office has predicted rain and thunder showers at a few isolated places in the state

Despite rain and thunder showers lashing some parts of the state, day temperatures continued to soar in Uttar Pradesh today affecting normal life with Banda being the hottest place at 46.2 degrees.
Met office said light to moderate rain and thunder showers occurred at isolated places over eastern districts while light rain and thunder showers took place at isolated places over western region.
Maharajganj recieved 1 cm of rainfall.
Day temperatures however appreciably rose in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Lucknow divisions, rose in Allahabad, Kanpur, Moradabad, Meerut divisions and changed little in remaining divisions of the state.
Temperates were markedly above normal in Allahabad division, appreciably above normal in Varanasi, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra divisions and were normal in remaining divisions of the state.
