Mild tension in Nagpur as dalit leader's statue desecrated

Tension gripped Panchsheel Nagar area of Nagpur tonight when two groups clashed after a statue of a prominent dalit leader was found "desecrated", police said.

The situation was brought under control after police used force to disperse people gathered in the area , they said, adding that the situation continues to be tense.

Four persons have been detained in this connection, police said.
