Militants decamp with two rifles from police picket

The militants attacked the security picket at Padgucchi village in Shopian district, 60 kms from here, this afternoon, and decamped with SLR rifles from the picket, they said.

The picket was being manned by four policemen, who had reportedly gone for Friday prayers, when the militants struck, the sources said.

An alert has been sounded across south Kashmir and a massive manhunt launched to nab the militants, they said adding so far no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the incident.
