: A government arts college was inaugurated at Nambiyur in Gobichettipalayam taluk in this district by School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan today.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Nambiyur Government Arts and Science College would function at a private land for the time being and soon a permanent campus would be constructed at a 30-acre site.
He said admissions for the new college commenced from today.
This is the second government arts college in the district. Two years ago, a college was started at Sivagiri.
District collector S Prabakar was present.
