West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan expressed his displeasure over the absence of any state Minister at an official function to mark Mahatma Gandhi's 66th death anniversary today.

"Today not even one state minister came," Narayanan told reporters after the function at Gandhi Ghat at Barrackpore, about 25 km from here.

When asked whether any minister was supposed to come, he said, "Definitely. It is the function of the state government. It is the function of Mahatma Gandhi".

As per convention, a Minister is present at the function held each year at Gandhi Ghat, but it coincided with the Trinamool Congress rally at the Brigade Parade Ground where all the ministers were present.
