A minor staying in Mandi area here allegedly committed suicide after his father 'refused' to buy him a smart phone, police said today.
Investigations revealed that the boy, a class IX student asked his father to buy him a smart phone yesterday.
However, after his father told him that he will do so after he gets money, the boy went to his room and hanged himself, the officer said.
The bereaved family informed police about the incident this morning, Gujjar said.
