Feeling privileged as the brand ambassador of WWF's earth hour campaign, popular RJ and acior and funnyman Mir says he will lead from the front to switch off lights for one hour on the appointed date.
Mir, having earned praise for his roles in 'Chaplin' and the recent 'Obhispoto NIghty', told PTI, "We can't be extravagant in using our electrical appliances just because we pay for or our electricity at homes or business places."
"Leading the campaign, I will ask everybody to join our cause on March 29. By switching off the lights from 8 30 pm to 9 30 pm. We can this way chip in to save the planet."

Asserting he would carry on the campaign on fm and reality shows, the 'funnyman' said "I have seen people don't take serious talks. So my approach will be peppy mixed with jokes and anecdotes, the way I do."
"I will also ask people to start a signature campaign for people to pledge their support, organize awareness marches and distribute earth hour posters in their neighbourhood to join the world celebrating earth hour," he said.
Asked if he would wish the Filmfare award function at Science City for Bengali film industry on the appointed day stick to the one hour power shutdown schedule, Mir said, "As it is, there are change in set-props and costumes before one show and another in such programmes when most of the lights are switched off.
