Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla has ordered removal of beacon from his official car.
The Chief Minister's directive in this regard comes days after the Union Cabinet decided to ban use of beacon lights atop vehicles of dignitaries and government officials from May 1.
Lal Thanhawla completely agrees with the decision. He said that there should be no place for VIP culture in a democracy, official sources today said.
Meanwhile, state chief secretary Lalmalsawma said that order would be issued after receiving instruction from the Centre.
