A mob ransacked a private hospital enraged over the death of a one-and-half-month-old child at Uluberia in Howrah district tonight.
A police officer was injured as a force tried to control the mob which also blocked the nearby road, police said.
Six persons were arrested later on the charge of rioting and arson.

Hospital sources said the child was already in a critical condition when brought to the hospital and the patient's relatives, despite being updated about the condition, turned violent after the death and were joined by some locals.
Local people alleged police lathicharged the mob but police denied.
