The 23 day Kolkata Monsoon meeting will be held here from July 15 and conclude on October 15 according to the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) prospectus. During the 23 day meeting a total of 162 races are scheduled to be run, which includes 43 cup races.
The advertised stake money has been increased by 15% as compared to last year of which 9% is allotted to Handicicup Races and the remaining percentage is distributed by way of incentive to owners making a grand total of Rs.8.42 crores and cups and Trophies at a value of Rs.11.05 lacks.
At present there are 579 horses in station, including 150 two-year-olds will be in training under 21 'A' and 2 'B' licenced Trainers. 44 (27'A' and 7 'B')Jockeys and 10 apprentice Jockeys have been licence to ride during the season.
