: More than 10 lakh devotees are expected to throng Lord Saneeswara Temple at Tirunallar, the only temple dedicated for Lord Saneeswara in India,on December 16 and 17 to witness Sanipeyarchi festival(transit of Saturn).
The transit of Saturn from one Zodiac sign to another is celebrated as 'Sanipeyarchi' festival and is held once in two-and-half years.
Karaikal District Collector Vallavan said the Nalan Theertham tank has been filled with fresh water and more than 10,000 devotees could take a holy dip at a time.Barricades had been erected in the tanks beyond which devotees would not be allowed to take bath. Expert divers would be kept ready for any emergency.

He said more than 50 toilets and 70 change rooms have been erected around the Nalan Kulam area. Other arrangements included provision to supply drinking water and five mobile nursing homes stationed at five locations in the town.
Ninety three digital surveillance cameras had been installed at strategic locations inside and around the temple, he said.
