MP govt sets up Business Promotion Board

With an aim to establish Madhya Pradesh as a major business centre, the state government today formally constituted Madhya Pradesh Business Promotion Board to be headed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The formation of the body was announced by Chouhan after he took oath as chief minister for third time on December 14.

While the chief minister will be the chairman of the Board, its others members are ministers of industries and commerce, finance, commercial tax, food and civil supplies and the chief secretary, official sources said.

Additional chief secretary of industries, commerce and employment department will be its Member Secretary.
 

Besides them, additional chief secretary/principal secretaries of finance, commercial tax, food and civil supplies, labour and urban administration and development departments will also work as members of the Board.

The Board will also have a member each representing the MP Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MPCCI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) and Punjab, Haryana and Delhi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), will also be appointed as members of the Board.

The state government will also nominate four prominent businessmen from the state.

The Board will also have a permanent committee to be headed by industries and commerce minister and additional chief secretary as its members.
