The chief of Pakistan's Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rejected allegations that his party workers attacked media houses during a protest last year.
Altaf Hussain, the leader of Mutthaida-E-Qaumi Movement (MQM), said he had called for "peaceful demonstration" against the media houses.
"I asked my workers to go at the media houses and...Asked them not to televise the views of the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence)," London-based Hussain said in a message to PTI.
"It (asking supporters to attack media houses) is totally a false information aired by Pakistani media and I deny it completely," Hussain said,referring to the news reports appearing in this regard in a section of the media.
It was reported that several journalists from various media organisation were attacked by the activists of the MQM. The protesters pelted stones and resorted to heavy aerial firing that killed one person and wounded others in August last year.
"I totally deny this allegation levelled by the ISI," he said.
The MQM, Karachi's biggest political party, is facing a crackdown after its self-exiled leader Hussain in London last year delivered an anti-Pakistan speech.
