A special POTA court today reserved till tomorrow its order on the quantum of sentence of the ten persons convicted for their roles in multiple blasts in Mumbai between 2002 and 2003.
Special Judge P R Deshmukh is likely to pronounce the final verdict tomorrow.
On March 29, the court had convicted ten out of the thirteen accused in this case. Those convicted are - key accused Saquib Nachan, Ateef Mulla, Hasib Mulla, Ghulam Kotal, Mohammed Kamil, Noor Malik, Anwar Ali Khan, Farhaan Khot, Dr Wahid Ansari and Muzammil Ansari.
Twelve people were killed in Mulund train blasts on March 13, 2003. Prior to that, on December 6, 2002, several persons were injured in a blast at McDonald's at Mumbai Central station, while a person had died in a blast in a market in Vile Parle (East) on January 27, 2003.
Meanwhile special public prosecutor Rohini Salian today demanded capital punishment for Muzammil Ansari, who had reportedly planted bombs.
"The victims have no one to voice their emotions and no one to help them", Salian argued in the court adding that the court should be "strict" while handing over punishment.
She also sought life imprisonment for the key accused Saquib Nachan, Gulam Khotal, Farhaan Khot and Dr Wahid Ansari.
Salian also demanded different prison terms for the other accused.
