Mustardseed prices declined by Rs 27 to Rs 4,563 per quintal in futures trading today as traders trimmed their holdings amid a weak trend at the physical markets on low demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in January moved down by Rs 27, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 4,563 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 40,000 lots.
Also, delivery in current month lost Rs 18, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 4,664 per quintal, having an open interest of 15,920 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants, triggered by a weak trend at the domestic spot markets on muted demand, mainly led to the fall in mustardseed prices at futures trade.
