Press Trust of India New Delhi

Zinc prices slipped by 0.51 per cent to Rs 176.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut their bets, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July moved down by 90 paise, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 176.90 per kg in business turnover of 491 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August contracts was trading lower by a similar margin to Rs 177.05 per kg in 16 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc prices in futures trade to a decline in demand from consuming industries in the physical market.
