Nagaland assmelby election notified

The tenure of the present assembly is till March 17 after which it will stand dissolved.

The major political parties Naga Peoples Front and Congress would be fielding candidates in almost all the 60 seats and would begin formally distributing tickets to their candidates tomorrow.

The last date for filing nominations is February 6, while scrutiny would be done on February 7. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 9.

Polling is scheduled for February 23 and counting of votes will take place on February 28. The election process will have to be completed before March 3, 2013, according to the notification.
