Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today laid foundation stone for the AP MedTech Zone at Pedagantyada area here.
The facility, which will come up in 270 acres is likely to be operational in a year.
The Chief Minister said about 80 per cent of medical needs are being imported from other areas and establishing more such parks will definitely bring down the costs up to 40 percent.
He said 40 companies have already expressed interest before laying of the foundation stone.
"Around 200 companies would come in the park and could generate employment to around 25,000 persons", Naidu added.
