Alleging that the Puducherry government was facing 'serious financial crisis' AICC General secretary V Narayanasamy today sought a detailed white paper on the financial position.
He alleged that government employees going on retirement were not getting pensionary benefits on time. Even those engaged in various departments and public sector undertakings were waiting for months together to get wages. Poor collection of taxes and inadequate allocation of funds by the Centre had also been worsening the situation, he said in a release.
Narayanasamy said though Chief Minister N Rangasamy had presented a budget a few months back, department wise allocation was yet to be made. Consequently they could not take up developmental works.
Narayanasamy, a former Union Minister, demanded that a detailed white paper be released highlighting the financial position of the government.
