NDFB militant arrested

A NDFB(S) militant was arrested

and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from him in Kokrajhar district by a joint team of the Army and the Assam Police.

"Based on specific intelligence, the Army launched a joint operation with the Assam Police in Surenderpur Ghat in Gossaigaon Sub-Division, Kokrajhar on July 14, 2015," a Defence spokesperson said in a statement.

In the operation, a NDFB(S) terrorist, identified as Sohan Basumatary, was apprehended.

From him, two hand grenades and some 7.65 mm ammunition were recovered, the official said.
