NDFB-S cadre killed, arms seized

An NDFB-Songbijit militant was killed tonight in an encounter with a joint team of police and army personnel in Assam's Kokrajhar district and arms and explosives were recovered from him.

During the joint operation, a group of extremists exchanged fire with the security team at around 8.40 pm at Phulkumari forest area in Mangalajhora in Bogribari police station in Kokrajhar district, IGP L R Bishnoi told PTI.

In the encounter, a cadre, identified as Orga, was killed and one 7.65 mm pistol, two magazines, one hand grenade, nine live cases, five fired cases, 10 detonators, one AK-47 magazine and five rounds of AK rifle ammunition were recovered from him, he said.
 

Orga is a close associate of the underground outfit's southern command 'commanding officer' Rangjabaja, he said.
