Over three months after committing a robbery in Pitampura area here, two Nepalese nationals were arrested after they returned to the city from the neighbouring country to carry out another loot.
Crime Branch of Delhi Police nabbed Vishal Samat (24) and Deepak Bahadur (25) on Wednesday following a tip-off.
The duo had returned to Delhi to commit another robbery as they were buoyed by the success in their first attempt, police said. They had looted the house of a businessman in Pitampura in February.
Samat used to work as driver of the businessman before he was fired for alleged misconduct.
"The dacoits had struck on February 11 in Pitampura. Police recovered Rs one lakh, one HDFC bank cheque book which were robbed from the victim in Pitampura case along with two country-made pistols, four live cartridges.
"After committing the crime, they fled to Nepal and recently came back to Delhi to rob their next target," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
Samat was fired from his job in December.
"Samat felt insulted from this episode. Hence, with the intention to take revenge and also to earn quick money, he organised a gang of Nepalese who were working in various hotels, shops and houses in Delhi. With the help of some other known boys Prakash and Vishal Samat made a plan after doing a thorough recce of the office at Chanderlok Enclave, Pitampura, Delhi," said Yadav.
Accordingly, they reached the spot at about 4:00 AM and overpowered the only servant present there and kept him in captivity and looted around Rs 30 lakh at gun-point.
Immediately after committing the crime, they distributed the booty at the house of Deepak Bahadur at Moti Nagar, and thereafter fled away to Nepal.
