New NCC group headquarter at Hisar on Har govt's anvil

The state government will also increase the strength of NCC cadets in Haryana, an official spokesman said here today.

At present the NCC activities are being provided through two group headquarters and 20 NCC units in the state.

NCC scheme is being implemented in 503 schools, colleges and universities in the state with cadet strength of about 40,000, he said.

The Haryana Government has set up placement cells in government colleges in the state under the supervision of the principal and senior most lecturers of the college to facilitate the students in getting employment, he said.

Placement fairs were being organised to help the students in getting employment.

 

This year about 1,000 students have already been offered placements and about 22 companies have participated in the placement fairs, he said.

Under this scheme, a sum of Rs 40 lakh has been sanctioned for the year 2012-13 and the scheme would benefit about 2,500 students.
