Nickel, tin strengthen on rising demand

Nickel and tin prices strengthened at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained buying by stockists amid rising demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, aluminium ingots also recovered on fresh demand from consuming industries.

Globally, industrial metals rose at the LME in early trade and was set to forge its biggest weekly climb in nine months as an upbeat US jobs report fired optimism over economic growth.

Nickel and tin surged by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,260 and Rs 1,610 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,255 and Rs 1,605.

Aluminium ingots climbed by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 160 as against Rs 157 yesterday.
 

Copper armiture inched-up by a Re per kg to Rs 478.

However, copper utensils scrap edged down by a Re per kg to Rs 454.
