Nine arrested for betting on India-South Africa match

Nine persons have been arrested for allegedly betting on India-South Africa cricket match in Jhansi district.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused were arrested yesterday from Kotwali area, IG, Crime Ashish Gupta said today.

Five laptops, 17 mobile phones, 2 LCD television sets, a printer, documents related to the betting and Rs 6,200 were recovered, the officer said.

The accused have been sent to jail, he said.
