Nitish greets mediapersons on press day

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar greeted mediapersons on the occasion of the National Press Day today.

At the outset of his speech at "Chetan sabha" at Madhubani during course of second leg of "Nishchay yatra", Kumar greeted mediapersons on Press day today.

Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) organised a function in state capital Patna which was attended by a large number of scribes of the print and electronic media to celebrate the occasion.

A seminar was organised on the occasion with the theme "Report from Conflict Area, a Challenge to the Media".

Speaking at the function, Principal Secretary of IPRD department Brajesh Mehrotra talked about lack of ethics or code of conduct on usase of social media whose influence has increased tremendously.
 

He emphasised on enacting code of conduct on social media to check its evil influences witnessed regularly by way of spreading misinformation.

"Information flow should be to guide people and not to misguide them," Mehrotra said.

IPRD Director Bipin Kumar Singh highlighted significance of media in the society.

PIB Director Dinesh Kumar, PTI bureau chief Sanjay Kumar Sinha, his counterpart in Hindustan Samachar Rajni Shankar and Editor of Rojnama of Rashtritya Sahara Syed Shahbaz Alam expressed their views at the function.
