Press Trust of India New Delhi
In some breather for flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir, the MET department has not issued any warning of fresh spell of heavy rains in the state for the next 2-3 days.

The news will bring relief to the defence personnel and authorities engaged in rescue and relief operations. It has also been battling high levels of water acting an impediment in carrying out the task in several parts of the valley.

"We have not issued any warning of heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir. The skies would be partly cloudy and might see a little rain for the next 2-3 days", said S S Singh, Director of IMD's Regional Meteorlogical Centre, Delhi.

After heavy downpour, which had resulted in the unprecedent floods in the state last week, the rainfall has been light since the start of the week. This phase is likely to continue in remaining 2-3 days, he said.

J&K has received 14 per cent more rainfall than normal this year.
