Urban Development Ministry has given no permission to city's cricket body DDCA, which has been facing allegations of irregularities, to set up corporate boxes in Firozshah Kotla ground.

"The Ministry has given no permission to DDCA to set up corporate boxes in Firozshah cricket ground," Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.

In December last year, a Delhi government inquiry had made a host of observations about alleged irregularities by DDCA including construction of the corporate boxes without prior approval of the authorities and complaints of forgery in age-verification certificates.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who had been the chief of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) between 1999 and 2013, had been under opposition attack for alleged irregularities in the body but he had denied the charges.

He also filed a criminal defamation suit against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and others for levelling allegations against him.
