Weather in most parts of North India was dry today as after-effects of rains which had lashed the region last week started to subside and mercury showed an upward trend.
A pleasant weather in the national capital today provided the perfect backdrop for Delhiites to soak in the Holi festivities but the city may witness a couple of spells of light rains and thundershowers tomorrow.
According to Meteorological department, the maximum temperature settled at 27.3 degree Celsius which was one notch below normal. The minimum temperature settled one point above normal at 14 degree Celsius.

In Punjab and Haryana, the minimum temperatures today hovered around normal levels. Union Territory Chandigarh recorded its minimum at 11.6 deg C.
Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar recorded its low at 6.4 deg C while Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 9.7 deg C and 11.2 deg C respectively.
In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala and Hisar registered their minimums at 13 deg C and 12.5 deg C.
Temperature in most parts of Uttar Pradesh today registered marginal increase, days after rains lashed the state pulling the mercury downwards.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 28.4 degree Celsius in Banda district and the lowest minimum temperature was eight degree Celsius recorded at Etawah.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar-Jammu national highway remained closed for the fifth consecutive day today in the wake landslides at various places along the arterial road triggered by rains.
"The national highway is closed for traffic and the road is being cleared off the debris due to the landslides at some places," a Traffic Department spokesman said here.
He said the heavy rains and snowfall on Monday caused landslides at some places which forced the closure of the road.
"Landslides have occurred at Gumroo in Banihal and other places which led to the closure of the highway," he said.
Meanwhile, the Met Department here has said the weather would be freaky for one week with increased precipitation from March 8.
"The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has has issued a weather advisory in the districts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara and Kargil and people are advised not to venture in avalanche prone areas during the said period," an official spokesman said.
