NPCDCS programme implemented in four Haryana districts: Hooda

Press Trust of India Chandigarh

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today that the programme had been launched by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in view of the increasing incidence of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD).

He said treatment facilities for diabetes were being provided at all district hospitals in the state.

He, however, urged the people to take all preventive measures to safeguard against these ailments.

A 'health fortnight' to focus on diabetes and heart diseases would be observed from December 16 to 31, he said.

Under this programme, people above 30 years of age were being screened for diabetes and hypertension by health workers in these districts.
