Odisha Assembly adjourns for the day after obituary reference

The first day of the 15th Odisha Assembly was today adjourned for the day after obituary references.

Leader of the House and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved the motion for obituary reference to seven former legislators including former speaker Yudhistir Das and four security personnel who laid their lives for the nation, immediately after Governor S C Jamir's address to the House.

Speaker Niranjan Pujari adjourned the House after the members observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
