Odisha, Karnataka score heavy wins

Rajkumari Ekka was the top scorer for winners with seven goals. Biranji Ekka (5), Lilima Minz (4), Surabhi Pradhan (4), Elin Ekka (3), Sarojini Ekka (3), Reshma Lakra (2), Punam Barla (1), Lata Kujur (1) and Anita Ekka (1) were the other scorers.

In their first league match played on Thursday Odisha beat Puducherry 29-0.

In another Pool D match, strong contender Karnataka blanked Puducherry 17-0.

Ranjitha A. K and Komala B.M sscored three goals apiece whle Suman S. Huddar (2), Nischitha M.J (2), Nandini B.P (2) Sandhya H.P (1), Bhagyashree C.M (1) and Bhavya S.P (1) scored the other goals.

 

Karnataka will now face Odisha tomorrow for a place in the quarter- finals.

In Pool B, Jharkhand registered their second win with a 8-0 hammering of Manipur with Sabnam Lakra topping the list with four goals.

In the same Pool, Hockey Bhopal registered their first win in the tournament as they beat Manipur 2-0.

Chhattisgarh edged past Jammu & Kashmir 7-0 in Pool F.
