A person was killed and his brother injured in a group clash in Paoni village near Deolapar in Ramtek taluka near here, Nagpur rural police sources said here today.
A police duty control room officer said that members of two groups clashed and one of them allegedly opened fire, killing one Dhanush Gupta and injuring one Sinni Gupta.
A mob gathered on the spot and allegedly set ablaze two police vehicles after blaming cops for inaction.
Tension prevailed in the village on the outskirts of the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh border, about 100 km near here.
Quick Relief Team (QRT) from the police headquarters here and additional forces from nearby police stations were rushed to the village, the police said, quoting preliminary reports.
