A 55-year-old villager from Wada of Palghar district has been arrested for the murder of his wife, police said today.
The village woman Kashi @ Jyotsana Baraf, 37 was found dead in her house yesterday after which police initially registered a case of accidental death.
Later it turned out to be a case of murder when the autopsy report stated that there were multiple fractures on her body, police said.
Further probe by local Wada police revealed that the couple frequently quarrelled as the husband was an alcoholic.
During one such fight last night, the husband identified as Kisan Babu Baraf allegedly beat Kashi to death, police said.
He was booked under section 302 of the IPC, police said.
